BBC 100 Best Films (Thrillers and Comedies)
Since 2006 we have been creating the pages for the Radio Times Film Guide. This 1800 page book is generated from the database that was set up to provide film reviews for the Radio Times weekly magazine. As a new venture from the same database, BBC Worldwide have published the first two books in a new series entitled "100 Best Films". Each film listed occupies a spread with a still from the movie on the left and narrative on the right. One requirement from the BBC was to have the text heading colour matching an area of the still picture.

Cambridge School Dictionary
This dictionary is aimed at students learning English as a Foreign Language. It contains pictures, examples and panels showing common errors. It was typeset from CUP's own dictionary publishing database.

Wisden Cricketers' Almanack
The 2010 edition of this iconic reference book will for the first time be created from a Content Management System. We have been busy setting up a Librios CMS for A&C Black, and now content creation is in in full swing. As well as articles about cricket, Wisden features lots of cricket scorecards, and we receive these as an XML feed from the Press Association. These XML files are automatically picked up and fed into our QPM online proofing.

Visit Britain Accomodation Guides
As a subcontractor to PDQ Digital Solutions in Bungay, we formatted the listing pages of these guides. There are five books: Bed and Breakfast; Self Catering; Hotels; Camping, Caravan and Holiday Parks plus Pets Come Too which lists Pet friendly establishments. The five books have 1800 listing pages with more than 25,000 establishments listed.

Blackwell’s Custom Publishing project
Blackwells, in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University, wanted to create a custom made textbook for a Forensic Science course. The content included relevant chapters from text books and some journal articles, and these came from a variety of publishers so the originals were in different styles. Although bespoke books had been produced before, they were assembled from a set of PDF files, so the result was a jumble of styles. Working with Blackwells, we developed a common "student textbook" style and reformatted the pages from XML to produce a consistent and stylish publication.

Bloomsbury Professional Legal Publishing database setup
Bloomsbury recently acquired Tottel Legal publishing. The Librios information management system is widely used by Bloomsbury, so we were contracted to migrate the Tottel UK and Irish legal text onto the system. The master data was held in styled Word files, and the first task was to analyse the useage of Word styles. From the analysis a smaller set of styles was agreed, and this formed the basis of the Librios setup. The next stage is to make the various publications conform before being loaded into Librios.

A&C Black Reeds Nautical Almanac database setup
A few years ago, A&C Black acquired Reeds Nautical Almanac with the master files in InDesign format. In order to allow a sophisticated online application to be derived from the data, it was decided to move this onto Librios, and we were requested to make that transition. Working with the company who were contracted to create the online application, we have designed a Librios setup, created an XML structure to load into Librios, and also a bespoke XML output.
